Who We Are
CPE is a God-led vision to build relationships with people in and around the Monroeville and Westmoreland County area. Our primary purpose is to make disciples of Christ, not to build buildings, but we will find a permanent home for the CPE family to gather and worship God together, at such time as it is needed.
A. G. Walp is the Lead Pastor of CPE. He was born in Greensburg, lived his first years in Crabtree, and moved to a small farming town north of Pittsburgh called Dayton. He served the public for eleven years as a police officer in Florida and North Carolina. After making the rank of detective with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in N.C., he retired from police work to enter the ministry. He earned four college degrees, including a graduate degree in counseling, a post-graduate degree in education, and a doctorate in Christian Apologetics (specifically how science and the Bible interact).
He and his wife of more than 25 years, T.J., have raised 2 sons and now have a beautiful granddaughter. Pastor Walp hated God until he was 27 years old, but then he came to know the God who loves each and every one of us despite who we are and what we have done. Pastor Walp knows, respects, and loves the hard-working people that surround the Steel City, and he wants to introduce the people of the burroughs, valleys and hollows to a loving God and to know D.Y.N.A.M.I.C. life through His Son, Jesus Christ. He would love to speak with you, to get to know you, and to help in any way he can. You can contact him at email@example.com.
